Progress update – June 2010
Thanks to everyone for their patience in the last few months while the competition brief for the former Andersonstown barracks site has been put together.

The brief is now in draft form and includes a mix of uses. These are all things suggested by local residents during the various earlier stages of the discussions, which you can read on this site. We are going to have a public meeting to discuss the draft before it is fully finalised.

It’s important that the brief reflects the views of all the Government and community stakeholders and we have taken time, over recent weeks, to speak to key organisations including the Roads Service, Planning Service and organisations that we hope will use the site long term. This sort of early consultation strengthens the design brief and will help make sure that we end up with a design that can be delivered.

We will update people as soon as possible again.
